About the Role

This isn’t a corporate content job—it’s a chance to shape the voice and vision of one of Edinburgh’s most beloved indie food brands. As Brand Content Manager, you’ll lead our storytelling across social platforms, in-store experiences, and external collaborations.

You’ll work directly with the founders, bakery team, and shop crew to spotlight our handmade craft, vibrant flavour drops, community moments, and team culture. From TikToks in the kitchen at 3am to influencer collabs and press features, you’ll shape how Kilted Donut is seen, loved, and shared.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Planning

  • Build monthly content calendars (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Threads).

  • Develop themes and campaigns celebrating flavour drops, seasonal specials, staff stories, and customer moments.

  • Write scripts and shot lists for short-form video, reels, and live-stream content.
     

Content Production

  • Plan and manage video shoots—behind the scenes at our bakery, in-store moments, pop-up events.

  • Coach staff to create authentic, engaging UGC (user-generated content).

  • Ensure content aligns with our visual identity and brand tone (playful, bold, indie, heartfelt).
     

Community, Press & Partnerships

  • Collaborate with Edinburgh creatives, foodie influencers, and press to grow visibility.

  • Lead campaign partnerships with local businesses, artists, or charities.

  • Manage PR enquiries, pop-up storytelling, and public-facing campaigns.
     

Analytics & Optimisation

  • Monitor content performance and growth weekly.

  • Adjust strategy based on engagement, sales impact, and customer feedback.

  • Work closely with our shop leads and founders to align content with real-world trends and business goals.

Ideal Candidate

Experience

  • 2–3+ years in content creation, video storytelling, or social media strategy.

  • Background in food, hospitality, lifestyle, or indie brands a big plus.

  • Proven experience crafting viral or high-engagement content.
     

Skills

  • Confident shooting and editing (CapCut, VN, Premiere, or similar).

  • Excellent short-form storytelling and scriptwriting for TikTok/Instagram.

  • Comfortable behind and in front of the camera—able to lead and coach others.

  • Strong understanding of visual branding and authentic voice.
